Accent-free meetings: AI platform filters speech in real time
The Krisp meeting assistant filters out accents from speech in real time. In a first beta, the Indian accent has to take the hit.

Krisp is expanding its AI-powered desktop app with a function that can filter out accents from a language in real time. In a first beta, Indian accents are to disappear and be converted into standard English – Filipino, Latin American and European accents are to follow later, including for Germany. According to the company, Krisp can be integrated into all common conference platforms, including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and Webex. To achieve this, the software must be selected as the microphone and loudspeaker in the audio settings of the respective conferencing tool.
Unlike other AI assistants, Krisp says it does not need to be integrated into the conference software, but works in the background, where it processes and transcribes speech directly on the device. The developers promise not to share any data externally.
Companies such as Atlassian, for example, now use the software from the company founded in 2017 to clean up audio files and create transcriptions or notes. The software with various conference apps and call center platforms.

According to the company, it has transcribed over 50 million calls and processes over 75 billion minutes of spoken language every month.

Similar systems already exist, but Sanas focuses on customer support, for example, while Krisp has a broader focus. Krisp can be used by sales staff, for example, or in online meetings, podcasts and webinars. The AI accent conversion changes the speaker's voice in real time with a processing latency of just 200 milliseconds, a delay that is imperceptible in conversations. During the trial period, Krisp will be available in three plans: a free plan with up to 60 minutes per day, a Pro plan with 120 minutes per day for $8 per month and a Business plan with unlimited use for teams and organizations.
