The Japanese software provider Mescius (formerly GrapeCity) has announced the first major release of Wijmo this year. It can handle the new versions Angular 19 and Next.js 15 and comes with updates for FlexGrid, improved accessibility and bug fixes. Wijmo is a UI component library written in TypeScript that includes the JavaScript data grid FlexGrid, JavaScript graph components for data visualization and JavaScript input components.
Updated support for Angular and Next.js
In November 2024, version 19 of the Angular web framework included new features for server-side rendering. Wijmo now offers full support for this Angular version. The Wijmo Quick Start Guide for Angular provides further information.
Support for the Next.js 15 version released in October 2024 has also been added. Wijmo's React connection makes it possible to use Wijmo controls within a Next.js project. A quick start guide is also available for use with the Next.js React framework.

Updates for FlexGrid and accessibility
The new property noDataOverlayContent can now be used in FlexGrid. This allows developers to specify that HTML string content appears in the overlay if the grid data is empty. This is intended to be a more user-friendly way of displaying an empty DataGrid. Developers can customize both the design and the content of the message. Mescius demonstrates this using an example with the message "No data available."
According to the development team, there is a strong focus on accessibility and they are planning further steps towards compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) in the next releases. The current release includes accessibility updates for FlexGrid and CollectionViewNavigator has achieved WCAG 2.0-AA compliance. In addition, the glyphs have been improved to support high contrast.
All further information on the new release can be found on the Mescius blog.
