Two game studios recommend old drivers for GeForce RTX 4000
Current graphics drivers from Nvidia are said to run unstable on RTX 4000 models. Two studios now recommend downgrading to the December version.

Nvidia's current 572 graphics drivers are said to cause problems with GeForce graphics cards from the RTX 4000 series. The two developers Inzoi Studio and Neople have now gone so far as to recommend installing the GeForce driver 566.36 from December 2024.
Both studios use the same wording on their respective Steam pages: In the "Sims" alternative "Inzoi" and in the action role-playing game "The First Berserker: Khazan", the current driver 572.83 can therefore cause stutters and frame drops on RTX 4000 graphics cards. Such issues should not occur with the older 566.36. The biggest disadvantage: This version does not officially support the AI upscaler DLSS 4.
RTX-3000 graphics cards should not be affected. The studios are not commenting on older generations such as the RTX-2000 models.
If you have already updated the driver, you can uninstall it and reinstall the old version. The Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) can be used for clean uninstallation. Automatic driver updates should be deactivated in the Nvidia app.

Reports of crashes
Reports of problems with RTX 4000 graphics cards in conjunction with the latest drivers have been accumulating for months, for example in the official Nvidia forum and on Reddit. According to these reports, PCs occasionally crash – Windows blue screens refer to the Nvidia file nvlddmkm.sys. In some cases, games are said to crash without any error message.
According to those affected, driver downgrades have also helped here. However, the number of cases is too small to conclude that there is a fundamental problem. Anyone experiencing problems should at least try an older driver. Nvidia has not yet commented on the issue.
