Withings' BeamO health tracker is available from today. The “clinical thermometer of the future” will not only be able to measure temperature, but also heart rate, oxygen saturation and more. More than a year after announcing the BeamO at CES 2024, French manufacturer Withings has launched its health gadget on the market. It was originally due to go on sale in June 2024.
BeamO: Vitality monitor combines functions of several Withings products
According to the manufacturer, the 4-in-1 vitality monitor combines functions from existing Withings devices such as BPM Core, which has ECG and stethoscope functions in addition to blood pressure. It can also measure body temperature like the Withings Thermo temple thermometer. With BeamO, users can measure heart and lung function data at home within a minute, which would otherwise require a visit to the doctor.

The device, which is smaller than a smartphone and looks more like a remote control, has an LED screen on the top on which the measurements are displayed. The device uses two electrodes integrated on the side of the housing to measure oxygen saturation and perform a single-channel ECG.
BeamO measures temperature using an IR sensor that is held to the temple. A piezoelectric disk can also be used to record information about lung and heart activity.
BeamO: Data ends up in the Withings app on the smartphone
The device synchronizes the recorded data with the corresponding Withings app, where it is summarized in a patient file. Users can also enter their medical family history there if they wish, and pass it on to doctors if required. They can also log medication intake and side effects. According to Withings, the data can be shared in real time during an online consultation if required to provide “an informed medical assessment from a distance”.
For the BeamO market launch, the manufacturer is offering Withings+ membership free of charge for three months. The paid service includes a cardio check-up, which uses the collected data to provide a comprehensive assessment of heart health by a certified cardiologist team. Withings+ also includes “health programs, continuous trend analysis and alerts at the first signs of possible deterioration”, the manufacturer announced.
The gadget will initially be available to order exclusively at Withings.com from April 2, 2025, at a price of 250 euros and will be available in stores from May 15.
