Midjourney has been announcing its first update for a while now. In future, the image generator will run on version V7. This will initially only be available to a small number of people as an alpha. There is no date yet for when V7 will be widely available.
V7 brings a draft mode to the image generator. This should allow images to be generated significantly faster and at half the cost. The developers write in the blog post that images are created ten times faster than in normal mode. In other words, you have to explicitly select draft mode, otherwise the generation process will take significantly longer. The actual quality of the images remains somewhat unclear at first. The mode should be particularly suitable for quick drafts and their editing. Subsequently, a higher quality image can be created based on this – There is the "enhance" selection for this. The prompt bar is automatically set to conversation mode so that you can continue working quickly. The mode can also be operated by voice.

There is also a turbo mode, which is also particularly fast, but also twice as expensive as a previous order via the predecessor model V6. Relax is correspondingly slower.
Personal style for mid-journey images with V7
V7 also offers the option of personalizing the image generator. This is based on the user's taste. According to Midjourney's blog post, you select images that you like for five minutes and Midjourney saves them. However, this personal style can also be turned off again.
Of course, Midjourney V7 is also better in every respect – more consistent, more accurate, more detailed and closer to the prompt. When it comes to editing the images, however, Midjourney continues to use V6. Further new functions will be added in the coming weeks. Midjourney points out that it is a completely new model that may come with new bugs and quirks. This may also mean that frequently used prompts no longer produce the same results and need to be adjusted.
