After a final major update, "Hades 2" should be ready this year. Initially, it can only be played on PC and Nintendo consoles.

When “Hades 2” is finished later this year, version 1.0 will be released simultaneously for the PC – as well as Mac – and the Nintendo consoles Switch and Switch 2. The developer studio Supergiant Games confirmed this to Engadget and made it clear once again that other game consoles will be left empty-handed for the release. However, a later release on Playstation and Xbox is not ruled out, as the studio made clear in a revised FAQ just a few days ago. With this approach, Supergiant Games is repeating the release strategy of its predecessor. “Hades” came to the other major game consoles almost a year late.

“Hades 2” is the sequel to one of the biggest indie hits of recent years and has been available to play in Early Access for almost a year. The unfinished version is currently available on Steam and in the Epic Games Store. The game studio responsible has not yet announced a date for the release of the finished version, but a third major update is to be released first. However, it should be ready before the end of the year. The game should run smoothly at 60 frames per second on both the Switch and the Switch 2, with full-HD resolution on the latter.

“Hades” has won numerous awards since its release, including being the first computer game ever to win the prestigious Hugo Award, which is actually awarded for books. While in the game you control Zagreus, the son of the eponymous god of the Greek underworld, in his attempts to escape from the underworld, in the sequel Melinoë now takes the opposite route. The “princess of the underworld” and sister of Zagreus wants to defeat the god of time, Kronos. But first she has to get past hordes of enemies. If she fails, it starts all over again. As in the previous game, you can unlock permanent upgrades through repeated attempts.
