Polaroid is once again expanding its camera range with the introduction of the Flip. It combines the nostalgic design of old Polaroids with modern technology. The new point-and-shoot instant camera combines a hyperfocal four-lens system with sonar autofocus and a powerful flash. This combination is intended to ensure particularly sharp images, regardless of the distance to the subject.

Technology and functions
The Flip's revived sonar autofocus, which is already familiar from old Polaroid cameras, is striking. It uses sonar waves to determine the distance to the subject, and thus ensures optimum sharpness – even in poor lighting conditions or even in the dark. The Flip's powerful flash automatically adjusts to the distance and illuminates subjects up to a distance of 4.5 meters. A scene analysis warns the photographer of overexposure or underexposure via an LED in the viewfinder, ensuring optimally exposed shots every time.
The Polaroid Flip also offers a Bluetooth connection to the smartphone via the Polaroid app. This allows photographers to optimize manual settings, create double exposures and also use the self-timer mode. The design of the camera is also striking: the hinged cover not only protects the lens, sonar focus and viewfinder during transportation, but is also strongly reminiscent of the Polaroid cameras of the 1980s. The Flip will be available in white and black and requires Polaroid i-Type and 600 film.
