Razer is launching its very first vertical mouse. With an angle of 71.7 degrees, the Pro Click V2 Vertical is aligned a little higher than the current competitor products – Logitech's MX Vertical, for example, has an angle of 57 degrees.

Keychron's M5 recently set the standard when it comes to the inner workings. Razer takes a similar approach: the Pro Click V2 Vertical features a high-quality sensor that would otherwise be found in pure gaming mice. The manufacturer calls it the Razer Focus Pro Optical Sensor. It is not the top model found in the Viper V3, for example, but with its 30,000 dpi and high acceleration, it is sufficient for practically all situations.

Razer does not comment on the sampling rate. It is probably 1000 Hertz via USB-C cable connection and 2.4 GHz dongle. Compared to most vertical mice, which only manage 125 Hertz, this would already be a significant improvement. The aforementioned Keychron M5 achieves 8000 Hertz, although the benefits are likely to drop off in these regions. Alternatively, the Pro Click V2 Vertical also supports Bluetooth – The mouse remembers three connected devices. Bluetooth typically limits the sampling rate to 125 Hertz.

The placement of the two thumb buttons is atypical for Razer. The additional button at the top center is also curious: if you hold it down for a moment, Razer's AI Prompt Master opens by default. It contains a rudimentary interface for ChatGPT and Microsoft's Copilot. A short click on the center button changes the dpi setting by default. The software allows users to assign their own macros to the keys. It can also be used to control the RGB LEDs.

At 150 grams, the Pro Click V2 Vertical is quite heavy. Logitech's MX Vertical weighs 135 grams, Keychron's M5 around 95 grams. All values include the integrated batteries. Razer does not comment on the battery size; only a rough estimate of up to six months of battery life is given.

Razer charges 130 euros for the Pro Click V2 Vertical. The manufacturer is already accepting pre-orders in its own store. Delivery is scheduled to start at the beginning of May. For comparison: Keychron's M5 costs around 85 euros, but is not yet available in Germany. The normal Pro Click V2 with the same technology in a classic right-handed housing costs 110 euros.
