Ryzen 7 9800X3D falls below AMD's recommended price
AMD's Ryzen 7 9800X3D gaming processor cost too much for months. The price has now fallen – as have other CPUs.

Some desktop processors from AMD and Intel have fallen in price in recent weeks. This is particularly pleasing for the Ryzen 7 9800X3D (starting from 439 €), which exceeded AMD's recommended price of 529 euros for months. It is now approaching the 500 euro mark. With eight CPU cores and stacked cache, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D is particularly suitable for gaming.
The price of the top model Ryzen 9 9950X3D (starting from 649 €), on the other hand, has risen. However, its demand as an expensive 16-core is significantly lower than that of the eight-core Ryzen 7 9800X3D. The development of numerous cheaper models is encouraging. The Ryzen 5 9600X (starting from 191,75 €), for example, still cost around 250 euros in mid-March and is now approaching the 200 euro mark. The Ryzen 7 9700X (starting from 269 €) has seen a similar improvement.
The Ryzen 5 7600X3D (starting from 239 €) gaming processor is an exception in the 7000 series. It recently made a leap downwards and thus represents a respectable entry into AMD's AM5 platform. The Ryzen 5 7600X3D combines six CPU cores with a large cache. The eight-core Ryzen 7 7800X3D (starting from 356,99 €) remains expensive compared to previous prices. In the case of the old AM4 platform, the price increase has stopped with the Ryzen 7 5700X3D; it recently became slightly cheaper again.

Prices are also falling at Intel
At Intel, some models from the Arrow Lake generation have become cheaper. The top model Core Ultra 9 285K (starting from 356,99 €) is approaching the 600 euro mark. The Core Ultra 7 265K (starting from 275,50 €) has fallen well below 400 euros – with the GPU-less KF version (starting from 264 €), interested parties can save another 25 euros. In addition, the Core Ultra 5 225F (starting from 144,39 €) has dropped in price as an entry-level model for the LGA1851 platform.
The retailer Mindfactory now lists numerous current AMD and Intel processors again and can often be found among the cheapest offers. The interim difficulties and the opening of insolvency proceedings are no longer much in evidence.
