Scythe EU GmbH closes its doors
There are currently hardly any Scythe coolers available in Germany at normal prices. Sales could start up again in the future.

The German branch of the Japanese CPU cooler and fan manufacturer Scythe is ceasing operations. Initially, the consumer protection forum reported that the Local Court of Lübeck had ordered insolvency proceedings for the local Scythe EU GmbH (file number 8 IN 62/25).
Meanwhile, the website Tom's Hardware has received a statement from the Japanese parent company that Scythe EU GmbH will cease operations completely. It was previously responsible for the distribution of Scythe products in Europe. Unsurprisingly, Scythe coolers are hardly available in this country anymore. The popular Mugen models, for example, have almost completely disappeared. Fans, on the other hand, are still readily available.
A few weeks ago, heise online heard about difficulties between the European subsidiary and Scythe Co. Ltd (Japan). According to this, the parent company is said to have provided only limited support for business in Europe.

Scythe wants to continue selling in Europe
According to the statement, Scythe products will remain available via its distributors and e-commerce channels. In the best-case scenario, the CPU coolers that are currently no longer available will also return to Europe.
During the transition period, there may be “inconsistencies”. Scythe apologizes for any inconvenience. This could include warranty inquiries, which users should address directly to the Japanese subsidiary.
“Scythe will continue to uphold the principles of responsibility and integrity and ensure that consumer rights are protected in accordance with the law,” it said.
Meanwhile, according to the Consumer Protection Forum, lawyer Stephanie Pidun is managing the debtor assets of Scythe EU GmbH.
