TeamViewer has announced the DEX Essentials add-on for its remote maintenance platforms Remote and Tensor. With the add-on package, the software company aims to make the functions of its Digital Employee Experience (DEX) platform available to small and medium-sized companies. The aim is to enable IT teams of different sizes to manage digital workplaces. TeamViewer only entered the DEX sector in January 2025 with the acquisition of British software company 1E.
DEX Essentials takes over routine IT tasks
TeamViewer promises companies less device downtime. Through continuous monitoring, DEX Essentials can detect problems with networks, applications and operating systems before they affect users' work. The add-on also automates the routine tasks of IT teams, such as the distribution of updates and patches within organizations and the rights' management of individual teams or departments. Furthermore, the software reduces the number of support tickets and secures the devices in the companies.
The basis for the add-on is TeamViewer DEX, which is aimed at large companies. It also includes supported analysis functions, for example on the stability of the network, its bandwidth and the utilization of CPU, hard disk and RAM of individual devices. The platform uses this data to calculate an AI-based score that evaluates the issues of computers in the company. Similarly, TeamViewer DEX calculates a score for the stability of software. TeamViewer also uses AI to log the sessions of its remote maintenance tools.

Furthermore, multilingual surveys can be set up in TeamViewer DEX, for example for user feedback on an application or an extensive update. The platform also independently prioritizes the urgency of patches and enables the inventory of devices in the company. It is not yet known which functions from the DEX platform are included in the add-on. The add-on is currently available as part of an early access program. The release of DEX Essentials is planned for May 2025, but TeamViewer has not yet announced a price.
