Samsung has announced a date for the final presentation of the ultra-thin Galaxy S25 Edge. The company is holding a virtual event for the ultra-slim smartphone on May 13. Leaked specifications and prices of the smartphone reveal everything in advance.
Originally, the S25 Edge was supposed to be unveiled at the beginning of April, but the company postponed the launch at short notice. It was rumored that the postponement was due to the sudden death of the Samsung CEO and its consequences in the management of the Korean company.
Shortly afterwards, May 13 was circulating in the rumor mill, which has now been confirmed by Samsung officially. However, fans would have to work a night shift for the event, as it takes place at 2 a.m. Central European Summer Time.

Almost everything about the Galaxy S25 Edge leaked in advance
There will probably be no more big surprises on May 13, as Winfuture already unearthed almost all the details about the smartphone a few days ago. The device will be marketed as a lifestyle smartphone, and with a height of just 5.85 millimetres, will be considerably slimmer than a Galaxy 25 Ultra or Plus, which are a few millimetres thicker at 8.2 and 7.3 millimetres respectively.
Due to the slimmer design, Samsung will probably have to make some compromises. The manufacturer has only installed two rear cameras in the S25 Edge: according to the leak, the wide-angle camera has a 200 MP sensor with f/1.7 aperture and a 12 MP camera for ultra-wide-angle shots with f/2.2 aperture. The other S25 models each have additional telephoto zoom cameras.

Relatively small battery
Samsung obviously also had to save on the battery, which at 3,900 mAh is smaller than that of the small Galaxy S25, which has a 4,000 mAh battery on board. The differences do not sound immense, but the basic Galaxy model has a 6.1-inch display, while Samsung has installed a larger 6.7-inch panel in the Edge, which requires more energy.
For comparison: Samsung's Galaxy S25 Plus, which also has a 6.7-inch screen, has a 1,000 mAh larger battery. That is a huge difference, which could have a noticeable effect on battery life. Apple's presumed iPhone 17 Air is also said to have a rather small battery.

)According to preliminary information from Winfuture, the other features include Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite, which is accompanied by 12 GB of RAM and 256 or 512 GB of flash memory. The 163 gram smartphone also features Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and support for wireless charging.
The device will be available in at least three colors: "Titanium Silver", "Titanium Jetblack" and "Titanium Icyblue". It is expected to cost from €1,250 and would therefore be €100 pricier than the Galaxy S25 Plus. The S25 Edge is set to go on sale at the end of May.
