Razer has introduced a speaker headrest for office and gaming chairs that is intended as an alternative to headphones. The Razer Clio consists of several individual headphones that work together to deliver stereo sound directly into the soft-bedded ears of the ambitious gaming connoisseur. The Clio can also be combined with other speakers to create a surround setup.

According to Razer, the Clio can also be combined with many chairs from other manufacturers. It is attached to the back using two straps.

This works wirelessly, for example via Bluetooth. Because Bluetooth connections are too slow for synchronized gaming sound, the Razer Clio is also compatible with Razer's HyperSpeed WiFi protocol. Razer claims a battery life of 14 hours, with a full charge taking 6 hours. In reality, the Clio will only get you through a day of gaming if you plan to sleep in between. You have to provide a USB-C cable for charging yourself.

You can switch between the different modes using physical buttons that Razer has placed on the top of the headrest. They can also be used to adjust the volume and switch between three different EQ presets. Razer does not provide any information on the Bluetooth version used.

Razer Clio is clamped to the chair with adjustable straps at the back. According to Razer, this works explicitly with all of its own gaming chairs. However, according to the manufacturer, the Clio can also be combined with "most office chairs with a high backrest". It's impossible to tell from the pictures how well this works: It would be doubly annoying if the audio playback constantly shifted along with the headrest.

Razer's Clio measures 45 x 17.2 x 13.7 millimeters and weighs 1.61 kilos. The sound-emitting head pad can be pre-ordered for 200 euros and is scheduled to be delivered from May 16.
