Microsoft's developers have released version 0.91.0 of the Powertoys tool collection. It contains many bug fixes, especially for the still young “command palette” function. There are also improvements for other tools from Powertoys.
In the version announcement for Powertoys 0.91.0, the developers provide an overview of the changes. One of the highlights is that they have significantly improved the performance of the command palette and corrected numerous bugs. This includes, for example, that the command palette can now search for any files by using a fallback command. The global keyboard combination for calling the function can now also use a low-level keyboard hook if there are problems with the input focus with the standard option. A fallback URL can now also be specified for the web search extension (WebSearch), which can be opened directly from the command palette.
Further improvements in Powertoys
Users can now define their time formats for the “Time and date” plug-in of Powertoys Run and the command palette. Bug fixes include, for example, that “Advanced Paste” was previously unable to create an OCR engine for certain English language encodings such as “en-CA” based on the information in the user profile. The fixes and optimizations for the command palette include 51 entries – too many to list here.

Microsoft released hotfix 0.90.1 for Powertoys in mid-April. It has already corrected the first frequently reported problems with the new command palette. In addition, the Powertoys could not be updated to version 0.90.0 if they were installed with WinGet.
