Victoria's Secret has been struggling with a security incident for days

On the Victoria's Secret website, there is a notice in black on the brand's typical pink: They are dealing with a security incident. Both the online business via the website and some in-store services are currently not working. What exactly is behind the incident is unknown. However, the problems have been ongoing for days.

Monday was Memorial Day in the USA, a holiday that is often used for online shopping. Since then, however, the supplier of underwear, sportswear and sleepwear has been experiencing problems. There is a team working around the clock to find a solution, they say. At the same time, people are writing on social networks and Reddit that regular IT employees are currently not allowed to log in. This suggests that this is an attack by criminals and not a technical, home-made issue. Some people also wrote there that they had already experienced disruptions to the store on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the local Victoria's Secret stores remain open. In Germany, the stores are only available at some airports. However, the products can also be ordered online here – once the disruptions have been resolved.

Victoria's Secret relies on AI

It is not yet known whether customer data was affected by the incident. Victoria's Secret is keeping a very low profile. In addition to payment data, very detailed information about the bodies of customers could also be affected. Among other things, Victoria's Secret uses Google's AI for customer contact.
