For the weekend, here's a brief overview of everything that didn't make it into the news but that we still think is exciting:
- Stack Overflow invites you to its fifteenth annual survey: "Indeed, we wonder what kind of online community Stack Overflow users will continue to support in the AI age." Two weeks ago, the company had already announced a rebranding.
- There is a new distributed serverless database from Amazon: Aurora DSQL. The Postgres-compatible database promises 99.99 percent availability in one region and 99.999 percent across all regions offered in the application. Amazon has also provided an MCP server for Aurora.
- A Windows 11 update (KB5058405) occasionally causes problems in virtual environments: Azure machines, Azure Desktop and local VM on Citrix or Hyper-V. The machines can no longer be started. The error message "Your PC/device needs repair" appears, error code 0xc0000098. Microsoft does not yet offer a solution, but the company says it is working on it.
- The AI server ramalama has been released in version 0.8.5 with a number of bug fixes. The standard Python version is now 3.10 and the installation script supports Linux as well as macOS.
- Version 8 of the OpenWire based Visual Live Binding library is available for RAD-Studio 12 from Embarcadero. It offers VLC and Firemonkey components for controlling video streams.
- Curl 8.14 now sends pings via MQTT and the Schannel backend supports pkcs12 client certificates that contain CA certificates. Users can also deactivate auto-pong for websockets.
- Updates for the Graph API and the Marketing API are available from Meta: In versions 23, the manufacturer introduces the
content_monetization_earningsmetric. It shows revenue for pages or posts. Endpoints are:andPOST /{page_id}/content_monetization_earningsPOST /{page_id}_{asset_id}/content_monetization_earnings

- Symfony 7.3 brings a number of improvements to the developer experience, such as better exception logging, enum support in
configand native PHP 8.4 lazy objects. Symfony 7.3 also has a JSONStreamer component which, according to the blog, is designed for high efficiency. - Ember 6.4 is planned as an LTS release and comes with bug fixes, performance improvements and minor breaking changes. For example, the new version no longer supports TypeScript 4.9. There is only one new function:
ember-tryfor blueprints in the CLI. - The Syncope team has revised the entire code base and switched to Java 21 and Jakarta EE 10. The components are now based on Spring Boot 3.4 and the web access on Apereo CAS 7.2. A new feature of version 4 of Syncope is LiveSync for users from sources such as Kafka or ActiveMQ.
