After a long wait, Netflix has published a release date for the fifth season of its in-house production, “Stranger Things”. The new episodes will be released in three parts, the streaming service announced. The first part consists of four episodes, which will be available on Netflix on November 27.
The second bundle of episodes consists of three individual episodes and will be broadcast on December 26. The final episode of the season can then be expected on January 1, 2026. This will mark the end of the Netflix series: Season 5 will bring the story to a close, Netflix confirms in its announcements.
To mark the announcement, the streaming service has released a trailer to get fans in the mood for the final season. Most of the scenes are from previous seasons, but a few new scenes have also crept in. They prove once again that the actors of the “Stranger Things” kids have undoubtedly grown up by now, but have not yet died of old age. The video snippets do not reveal any real details about the story.

“Stranger Things” is taking longer and longer
“Stranger Things” is one of Netflix's most important in-house productions. New seasons of the series have regularly brought the streaming service an economic upswing. However, the production time was recently extended: season 1 was released in 2016, followed by season 2 in 2017. The third season was broadcast in summer 2019. Three years then passed before the fourth season. The production of season 5 then took another three and a half years.

Netflix documents the release times of the final “Stranger Things” season on a dedicated website. All series bundles are released simultaneously worldwide. Because Netflix is based on US time, the times in Germany are somewhat unfavorable: in New York, the final “Stranger Things” episode will be released at around 8 p.m. on December 31. So fans can watch it before the New Year. In Germany, on the other hand, the episode will not be broadcast until 2 a.m. in the new year. The other episodes will also be released at 2am.
