New VR games in June 2025: "Zombie Army VR"
In June, Rebellion is bringing a well-known series to virtual reality with "Zombie Army VR". Cave Crave" and "Maestro" will also be released.

While May was still full of major VR releases such as "Surviving Mars: Pioneer", "F1 25 VR", "Pools VR" and "The Midnight Walk", June was a little quieter. Nevertheless, VR fans can look forward to some interesting releases for Meta Quest, SteamVR, Pico and Playstation VR 2.

"Zombie Army" is Rebellion's action-packed horror spin-off of the "Sniper Elite" series. After the studio has already released two VR conversions in the Sniper universe, the undead are now moving into the spotlight. "Zombie Army VR" was originally due to be released on May 22, 2025 for Meta Quest, Playstation VR 2 and PC VR, but is now coming on June 12, 2025 after a brief postponement.

The story of "Zombie Army VR" takes place before "Zombie Army 4". Players take on the role of a Deadhunter and fight alone or in co-op mode against zombie war criminals near Nuremberg. Rebellion integrates the well-known "X-Ray Kill Cam", detailed weapons from the Second World War, character improvements, equipment modifications and an arcade point system with which players can compare themselves worldwide.
Cave Crave
Cave Crave" also focuses on a dark atmosphere. The realistic VR cave simulator includes an optional horror mode, which the developer studio has designed to be so intense that even experienced VR players will be pushed to their limits. According to the developer, monsters and creepy-crawlies move believably through narrow corridors and create a strong sense of menace. However, the focus is on the realistic simulation of cave climbing.

Players explore the caves with tools, climb, crawl and navigate through unpredictable terrain. They have to control their own breathing in order to pass through narrow passages and maintain their equipment. The developers have embedded the expedition in a personal story in which players can follow the trail of a missing father – if they wish, even without dangers in tourist mode.
The Smurfs - Flower Defense
With "The Smurfs – Flower Defense", Microids is bringing the Smurfs to mixed reality for the first time on June 19, 2025. The choice of genre is unusual: As the title suggests, it is a tower defense game. Players build a digital version of the Smurf village in their physical environment and have to defend it against Gargamel.

The aim is to strategically place defense towers, traps and, of course, the brave Smurfs on the playing field. The four playable characters – Smurfette, Hefti, Brainy and Jokey – have individual abilities that they use to free captured Smurfs and fight boss battles against Gargamel, Azrael and the Howling Bird. "The Smurfs – Flower Defense" will be released for Meta Quest 3, Quest 3S and Quest 2.

Maestro
"Maestro" already impressed on Meta Quest 3 with its natural feel when conducting. The PSVR 2 version, which is one of the few VR games to use Sony's hand-tracking technology, will follow on June 20. Players learn basic conducting techniques such as beat movement and gesture control to perform classical works in a virtual opera house with an animated orchestra.

The developers regularly add new pieces of music to "Maestro". For example, a Star Wars DLC adds John Williams' "Duel of the Fates" and Prokofiev's "Battle on the Ice" to the game. With the "Doombound Pack", players can also conduct music from "The Lord of the Rings" and "Game of Thrones".
