Fairphone 6: New leak reveals many details
A retailer has apparently published many of the features of the Fairphone 6 prematurely. Technical data was leaked even before the launch.
Similar to the Fairphone 5, the successor can also be disassembled.

The Fairphone 6 is set to replace the Fairphone 5, which was launched in 2023, at the end of June. Previously leaked details of the features suggest that the Dutch manufacturer is giving the modular smartphone a solid upgrade.
Fairphone 6 with 120 Hz display
As Roland Quandt from Winfuture found out through a careless retailer, the Fairphone 6 is characterized by more modern components and a smaller screen compared to its predecessor. Instead of a 6.46-inch OLED screen with 90 Hz, the new Fairphone generation will have a 6.31-inch POLED based on LTPO, which supports a dynamic refresh rate of one to 120 Hz.
It will also have a resolution of 2484 Ă— 1116 pixels and a pixel density of 432 ppi. According to the source, Gorilla Glass 7i serves as protection against scratches.
The cameras have apparently also been upgraded: the main camera is said to have a 50 MP sensor with a fast f/1.56 aperture. The second camera is an ultra-wide-angle camera with a 13 MP sensor and a 120-degree angle of view. For selfies, there is a 32 MP camera with f/2.0 aperture under the screen.
Mid-range chip and MicroSD card support
Fairphone apparently relies on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor with eight cores and up to 2.5 GHz. The mid-range chip introduced in mid-2024 is also used in the Nothing Phone 3a and 3a Pro models, among others, and should deliver sufficient performance. 5G support for Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 6E are also on board.

Incidentally, Fairphone had to use an IoT processor for its predecessor model to ensure the longest possible update guarantee. Thanks to a partnership between Google and Qualcomm, Android updates are now possible for up to 8 years. Although the long update guarantee was announced for the Snapdragon 8 Elite, it is to be extended to other processors.
The battery is larger than its predecessor, apparently measuring 4415 mAh instead of the 4200 mAh of its predecessor. When it comes to wired charging, the Fairphone 6 is not much faster than the previous model: Winfuture writes of 33 watts – the Fairphone 5 manages 30 watts.
As previously leaked, the Fairphone 6 will have eight GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash memory. In addition, the memory can be expanded by up to two TByte using a microSDXC card.
Fairphone 6 probably with modular accessories
It should be obvious that the Fairphone 6 will continue to have a modular design so that individual components such as the screen, cameras and more can be replaced. After all, this is what makes the company stand out alongside devices produced under fairer conditions.
With the new smartphone generation, the manufacturer is said to be relying on a two-part back cover: The “top” and “bottom” covers are to be offered in different colors. There will also be interchangeable accessories for the back, such as a cardholder, a lanyard and a retaining ring. This is somewhat reminiscent of Nothings CMF Phone, which users can add similar accessories to if they wish.
The Fairphone 6 is set to be launched on June 25 and will cost from 550 euros. This would make it cheaper than the Fairphone 5, which was launched in August 2023 for just under 700 euros.
