Pixel 10: Google postpones event for superfans

Google launches new phones on the market every six months. According to the usually well-informed rumor mill, the next model, the Pixel 10, is due to be unveiled in August. But a murmur goes through the crowd of Pixel disciples: Google has postponed an event called the “Pixel Superfans Insider Event” for 25 hand-picked adorants.

According to the invitation sent out at the end of May, the 25 chosen ones were supposed to be able to marvel at a new Pixel device at the end of June, even before its public presentation. Google has released various portable consumer hardware under the “Pixel” brand in the past, but the current invitation generally referred to the Pixel 10 smartphone. Unspecified “unforeseen circumstances” have prompted Google to postpone the invitation to the Pixel Superfans Insider Event until September 4. This is reported by Android Authority.

However, September 4 would only be after the public presentation of the Pixel 10, which was expected in August, making the invitation for superfans much less attractive. As a result, some fear that the development of the phone is not on schedule and Google could also postpone the public presentation. Others hope that Google is preparing another Pixel device instead.

Zoom camera

Last year, Google presented the Pixel 9 in four variants in mid-August: Pixel[ ]9, 9[ ]Pro, 9[ ]Pro[ ]XL and the foldable Pixel 9[ ]Pro[ ]Fold. In the previous year, 2023, the Pixel 8 models saw the light of day in early October. There is therefore no question of the next Google smartphone being late or delayed, as the data company has not yet promised a specific launch date.

According to rumors, the Pixel 10 will be equipped with the same main camera sensor that is currently available to buy with the Pixel 9a. However, a telephoto zoom camera would be added to the Pixel[ ]10. This would be an innovation for the base model of the Pixel cell phone series.
