Berlin agency implements commercial entirely with AI
A Berlin advertising agency has produced a complete commercial using AI. It is officially the first time that a commercial has been created in this way.

The Berlin TV tower in front of an Alpine panorama, a dancing Späti on a mountain meadow and a graffiti-painted subway train racing through the Alps – The commercial for Spreequell's “Kräuterbrause” beverage brand looks so weird that it must have been created by artificial intelligence. And in fact, almost everything about this commercial is AI, as the advertising agency Jung von Matt Spree has now announced in a press release. At least officially, this is the first advertising campaign in Germany to be created in this way.
The surreal campaign film “Trink dir Berlin bergig” was developed in-house by the agency using generative AI – including AI-generated visuals, voice-over, and a mix of Berlin techno and brass music. Production posed particular challenges for those involved: “The toolset has evolved several times since the start of the project in February,” explains Phil Langer from the advertising agency. The team had to adapt its workflows to keep pace with the rapid developments of the AI tools. However, as the client largely gave the creative team a free hand when it came to AI, they were able to test its use extensively.

Not possible in the traditional way
According to Langer, scenarios such as those shown “would not have been possible in the traditional way or with a 3D production – at least not in this time and budget frame”. However, the agency has left open whether and to what extent AI will also be used in other commercials in the future.

The campaign also relies on AI for the audio: all the voices in the commercial were created digitally by the agency's AI artists. Only the music was composed by humans. The campaign will run regionally in Berlin and Brandenburg from June 17 to August 12, 2025, via online video, cinema, social media and native ads.
