Android 16: Pixel users complain about many bugs – Google confirms two
The update to Android 16 is ready to install for Pixel users. Those who have not installed it should perhaps wait a little longer.

Slightly buggy: Android 16 is ready and can be installed on the Pixel 6 and newer. While the update brings a range of new functions and is mostly stable, users are encountering some annoying bugs. Google has already confirmed some bugs.
Gesture and 3-button navigation with bugs
Shortly after the release of Android 16, users on Reddit reported a sometimes unresponsive back gesture. There are also reports that the three-button navigation bar is no longer usable – especially on Pixel 8 and Pixel 9 devices.
Among others, the gesture navigation bug was noticed by Android Police and APK Mirror founder Artem Russakowski on his Pixel 9 Pro XL, who demonstrated the bug in a screencast on X . According to Russakowski, there is no permanent workaround for the problem – at least temporarily, restarting the device helps.
In another tweet, Russakowski writes that he sent a bug report to Google, whereupon he was answered that the bug has already been fixed in an internal Android version. The bug fix is to be distributed with a future update. Meanwhile, users can also try using a different launcher app or regularly clearing the data and cache of the Pixel launcher.
Pixel devices are sometimes slow to come out of standby
Not only the navigation seems to be buggy under Android 16: On Reddit a user writes that he has issues getting his Pixel device out of standby. Waking up sometimes takes more than five seconds until the screen is switched on. He experiences this error both when double-tapping the screen and when using the power button.

Google is now also aware of this error. An employee of the company responded to the Reddit post and promised that a fix would be released in the coming weeks.
In another Reddit-Thread, a user collects known bugs that occur under Android 16. Among other things, he mentions problems with the sleep mode and crashes of the YouTube app when the smartphone is in energy-saving mode. Pixel users who find a bug in the new Android version are encouraged to fill out a Bugreport so that Google is informed about the bugs and can take action.
The new QPR1 beta version of Android 16 is not without bugs either. Although the navigation bug no longer seems to be present, we have observed a bug in beta 2 where the device almost completely freezes when starting a picture-in-picture video and can only be used normally again after a restart.
