Galaxy Z Fold 7 and more: Samsung announces unpacked event for July 9
Samsung plans to present new products at an unpacked event in early July. In addition to foldables, consumers can also expect to see Galaxy Watches.

On July 9 at 4 p.m., Samsung will hold its summer Unpacked event, which has been taking place for years. Among other things, a very thin foldable will be presented.
Galaxy Unpacked: Samsung's “Ultra” foldable is coming
The company announced the event with a teaser and the motto “Ultra Unfolds”. Samsung is continuing the theme that was already conveyed in a first teaser at the beginning of June. During the event, Samsung wants to show a foldable that is thinner than before and has the features of an ultra device. Samsung promised “industry-leading hardware, performance and artificial intelligence in a foldable format”.

In the teaser video for the event, Samsung hints that the foldable will be particularly thin. With this device, the company appears to be continuing the slimming down of its devices that began with the Galaxy S25 Edge. However, it will not be easy to undercut the competition in the foldable slimness craze, as Honor recently teased its Magic V5, which barely has room for a USB-C port. Even the camera element is thicker than the casing.
More than just a slim foldable expected
Although new foldables – and a Galaxy Z Fold 7 and a Z Flip 7 with a large external display are expected – to be the focus of the event, Samsung fans and interested parties can expect more new announcements.
In previous years, Samsung has also used its summer event to unveil new Galaxy watches and earbuds. Samsung itself had already confirmed that new smartwatches would be released in the summer when it announced the One UI 8 Watch. According to rumors, Samsung is planning three new models: the Galaxy Watch 8, Galaxy Watch 8 Classic and the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025.

The watches will be delivered with the latest OS version ex works and will have some new health functions on board. According to Samsung, One UI 8 based on Android 16 will be pre-installed on the new foldables.
Samsung will broadcast the unpacked event live on its website and on YouTube from 4 p.m. on July 9.
