Veo 3 is Google's latest AI video model and is now also available in Germany. However, a Google AI Pro account is required to generate a video. Veo 3 can then be accessed via Gemini. The number of videos that can be generated daily is limited. Google does not provide exact details.
The availability also means that German prompts can be used to create videos. Veo 3 also offers the option of generating suitable sound. This is not yet possible with OpenAI's Sora, for example.

Google uses SynthID for the videos, a type of embedded watermark that is not visible. Google uses the probability values of AI-generated outputs for this. There is also a visible watermark in videos created with Veo.
Videos created using Veo 3 can be up to eight seconds long. The video generator was presented at Google I/O just a few weeks ago. After its release in the USA, there were countless videos on social networks. The response was extremely positive.
Videos with Sora, Midjourney and Veo
The predecessor Veo 2 has already been available via Gemini for several months. They are also eight seconds long, marked using SynthID, but have no sound.
OpenAI made Sora available in Germany at the beginning of the year. Midjourney also recently presented its video generator. This can even be used to create videos up to 21 seconds long. However, Midjourney is already facing a lawsuit from Universal and Disney. The outcome is also likely to affect OpenAI and Google to some extent. Meta is still working on Make-a-Video.
