Razer's Deathadder V3 Pro gets a successor after three years
The Deathadder V4 Pro is lighter than the V3, despite having the same design. An optical encoder is designed to prevent problems with the mouse wheel.

Razer's high-end Deathadder V3 Pro mouse (also known as DAV3 or Dave) is getting a successor after three years. The Deathadder V4 Pro retains the housing shape, but reduces the weight from 63 to 56 grams due to the internal structure.
Probably the biggest innovation concerns the mouse wheel, whose movements are no longer recorded purely mechanically. Instead, Razer has installed an optical encoder, which is intended to solve the wheel problems of the Deathadder V3 Pro. Scrolling in the wrong direction, unregistered scrolling movements or "ghost" scrolling movements without turning should be a thing of the past.
Internal technology renewed
Razer has also overhauled the rest of the Deathadder V4 Pro's technology. The Focus Pro 45K optical sensor should work even better in the Gen 2. Presumably, Pixart's PAW3950 or a further development will continue to serve as the basis. The noticeable advantages in practical use are likely to be only nuanced in view of the already high level.
Razer also promises lower input latency with the new wireless technology (Hyperspeed Wireless Gen-2). The manufacturer puts the average latency at 0.291 milliseconds. The maximum sampling rate is 8000 Hertz, both via the included wireless dongle and via USB-C cable connections.

The internal battery remains 306 mAh. However, the battery life should increase thanks to the new technology. Razer claims 150 hours at a sampling rate of 1000 Hertz and 22 hours at 8000 Hertz.
Minor adjustments have been made to the two thumb buttons, which are no longer together but have a small gap, as on the Viper V3 Pro. The mouse sliders on the underside are now larger. The coating should be smoother again. The internal memory is still only sufficient for one user profile.

On sale for 180 euros
Razer is selling the Deathadder V4 Pro at launch in black and white for 180 euros including the 8000 hertz dongle. The recommended retail price therefore remains at a similar level to the 3 Series version including the 8000 Hertz dongle. However, unlike the V3, Razer does not offer a cheaper version with a 1000 Hertz dongle.
Typically, other color variants with names of e-sportsmen follow, which are even more expensive.
