Soccer in VR: Official Premier League game for Meta Quest now free of charge
In "Premier League Player", soccer fans can experience iconic moments from real matches in VR. With the latest update, the game became a free-to-play title.

The officially licensed VR game for the English Premier League, "Premier League Player", is now available for free in Meta's Horizon Store. Previously, the price was around ten euros. The VR soccer simulation contains all 20 Premier League teams, including original kits and stadiums.
Technically, the game is based on Rezzil's in-house engine, which processes precise motion data. This is particularly important for the main game mode "Moments", in which all actions from a real soccer match are reconstructed. Players can relive iconic match scenes from the previous season, such as goals, assists or goalkeeper saves.

Alongside the free-to-play launch, Rezzil announced technical improvements and a new core element that is set to generate revenue with immediate effect: the additional "Matchweek" package. The studio intends to use this to accompany real match days in VR from the upcoming 2025/26 season. Players can replay or reinterpret current highlights every week.
Free-to-play with optional paid content
Although the app is now basically free and offers various training and multiplayer modes, the Matchweek experiences are offered as paid DLCs. Those who pre-order the Season Pass for around 30 euros will receive all 38 match days, all club avatars, special goalkeeper moments and upcoming DLCs for the season in one package.
Rezzil promises a discount of over 85 percent compared to buying the pass individually. It is not yet known how the various add-ons will be priced in detail. However, players who purchased the app before the free-to-play launch will receive two weeks of Matchweek content free of charge as a thank you.

XR platform for athletes
"Premier League Player" is being developed by Rezzil, a British studio specializing in immersive sports applications. Rezzil has been trying to establish itself in top-level sport for years: The company's VR platform is used worldwide by professional clubs and national teams – to train decision-making behavior, reaction or technique, for example.
The technology is also used for rehabilitation measures following injuries. In addition to soccer, Rezzil also supports other sports such as basketball, boxing and American football.
"Premier League Player" is available exclusively for Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S. Other platforms have not yet been confirmed.
