Google invites you to the next Pixel presentation on August 20, 2025.
Google sends out invitations to its next hardware event. Like every year, we're expecting new Pixel smartphones, new smartwatches, and new earbuds.
The predecessor: Google's Pixel 9
This year's Google event for new Pixel hardware will take place on August 20 in New York City. This has been reported by various US media outlets that have been invited to attend. The event, called “Made by Google 2025,” usually focuses on new smartphones, smartwatches, headphones, and software updates for these devices. Those who cannot be there in person can watch the Pixel presentations as usual via live stream on YouTube.
Last year, the corresponding event, “Made by Google 2024,” took place on August 13, one week earlier than this year. At that time, Google unveiled the Google Pixel 9 and 9 Pro XL smartphones in standard format, the foldable Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold, as well as the Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Buds Pro 2 as new accessories from Google. All of these devices went on sale in the weeks following the event.
Pixel 10 still on schedule
This is also expected this year, although there were previously fears that the development of the new phones was not on schedule. This is because Google postponed an event for superfans in mid-June. At this “Pixel Superfans Insider Event,” 25 hand-picked fans will be able to get a first look at new devices, but instead of taking place at the end of June, it will now be held in early September, leading to speculation about delays.
However, Google is sticking to its public presentation of new hardware in August. That is still around six weeks earlier than in 2023. Two years ago, the Pixel 8 models did not see the light of day until the beginning of October. Now the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold are expected. The external design is expected to remain largely unchanged from the 9 models, but all new smartphones will be based on the new Tensor G5 chip, which, unlike its predecessors, is likely to be manufactured by TSMC rather than Samsung.

According to rumors, the Pixel 10 will be equipped with the same main camera sensor that is currently available with the Pixel 9a. This would represent a downgrade from the current series, as the Pixel a models are the cheapest versions of each generation. However, the Pixel 10 would feature a new telephoto zoom camera. This would be a first for the base model of the Pixel phone series.
Smartwatches and earbuds in addition to phones
According to 9to5Google, Google's invitation mentions “Pixel smartphones, smartwatches, earbuds, and more.” Engadget expects Google to respond to Apple's MagSafe technology with something called PixelSnap. This suggests fast wireless charging via a magnetically attached charger. The Pixel Watch 4, a new smartwatch model, is likely to be shown in two sizes again, but could come with a larger battery capacity and be slightly thicker than before, writes The Verge. In terms of headphones, the new Pixel Buds 2a are expected to be more affordable earbuds.
Unlike last year, Made by Google 2025 will not take place at Google's headquarters in Mountain View, California, but in New York City. The Pixel event will begin on August 20 at 1 a.m. local time, which is 7 p.m. German time. As usual, the event can be followed via livestream on YouTube.
