Saber Interactive has announced the horror game “Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival”. The title is inspired by the first two “Hellraiser” films and mixes elements from action adventure and survival games, the US publisher announced.
The studio Boss Team Games is responsible for the development. The team has only built up a small portfolio so far. Most notable is the survival game “Evil Dead: The Game,” which was released in 2022 to mixed reviews.

While “Evil Dead: The Game” focused primarily on the online mode, “Hellraiser Revival” is apparently set to be a purely single-player title. Little is known about the gameplay elements so far. From screenshots and a first trailer, we can at least deduce that the title will probably be played from a first-person perspective.
“Play the story of Aidan, who must use the power of a mysterious puzzle box to help his girlfriend Sunny escape from the hellish landscape of the Labyrinth,” the developers write in the announcement. “Use the box's powers to survive your pact with the infamous Pinhead and battle the terrifying cult dedicated to the Cenobites.”

Doug Bradley returns
Doug Bradley is to voice Pinhead, who has also played the character in most of the films. Book author Clive Barker is not only donating his name but is also said to have taken on an advisory role for the design of the video game. Several horror games have already appeared under Barker's name, including “Clive Barker's Jericho.”
Saber Interactive has not yet announced a release date. In a blog entry, producer Nenad Tomic merely uses the meaningless phrase “sooner than you think”. The horror game has been announced for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Playstation 5. Whether and how the game will be available in Germany remains to be seen. The Steam page for “Hellraiser Revival” is currently not accessible from Germany. In the Xbox store, however, the title is displayed with a USK rating from 18 years.
