Surface Laptop: Microsoft adds 5G version
The Surface Laptop 7 is available with Intel's Lunar Lake processors and 5G mobile module. However, the prices are steep.

Microsoft is now also selling the Intel version of the Surface Laptop 7 (13.8-inch) with a 5G mobile module for use on the move. Those interested in the option of mobile 5G Internet will have to pay an extra 250 euros: the basic version with Core Ultra 5 236V, 16 GB LPDDR5X memory, and a 256 GB SSD costs 2099 euros.
If you want more RAM, you'll have to dig even deeper into your pockets: 32 GBytes cost 350 euros extra, i.e., 2459 euros in total. Because Intel solders the memory of the Core Ultra 200V alias Lunar Lake to the processor carrier, the CPU variant here is called Core Ultra 5 238V. Apart from the additional memory, this version is identical to the Core Ultra 5 236V in the basic configuration of the Surface Laptop 7. Microsoft does not offer a larger SSD option.
For more computing power, there is a variant with Core Ultra 7 266V. It clocks at a maximum of 5.0 instead of 4.7 GHz and uses 12 instead of 8 MByte level 3 cache, but remains with a total of eight CPU cores. Also included: 16 GB RAM. There is no 32 GB variant with the Core Ultra 7 268V. Here too, buyers are limited to an SSD with 256 GB capacity.

Delivery in September
Officially, the Intel version of the Surface Laptop 7 is a business notebook for corporate customers. However, Microsoft also sells them to private customers via its own online store.
Meanwhile, delivery is still a long way off. Microsoft plans to ship the 5G models on September 2, 2025; they should arrive at customers on September 3.
Microsoft does not currently offer the larger 15-inch version with a 5G module. Internet is only available there via Wi-Fi or a USB Ethernet adapter. If you are looking for a 5G-capable notebook from other manufacturers, you can filter for corresponding models in the price comparison.
