Samsung: Galaxy S25 FE coming out sooner - Tri-Fold and XR headset still in 2025
Samsung has provided an outlook for the second half of the year. Among other things, the company wants to launch the Galaxy S25 FE earlier – and more.

In the course of a presentation of its financial results for the second quarter of 2025, Samsung gave a preview of future products from its mobile division. In addition to the earlier launch of the Galaxy S25 FE, the manufacturer also has a few highlights such as a Tri-Fold and an XR headset in store.
Samsung Galaxy S25 FE coming earlier
As explained by Samsung, the manufacturer wants to keep up the momentum for the S25 series after the launch of the new Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 foldables and maintain sales through seasonal promotions and an earlier launch of the Galaxy S25 FE.
Samsung did not give a specific timeframe. Since its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 FE, was released at the end of September 2024, we can assume that it will be unveiled between August and early September. It remains to be seen whether Samsung will address the criticisms of the S24 FE, such as its price proximity to the Galaxy S24 with partly inferior features.
Galaxy A models and tablets
In addition to the FE model, Samsung also plans to launch a new generation of its more affordable Galaxy A series in the second half of the year. This will focus on AI functions and longer system updates.
The latest models in the Galaxy A series, consisting of the Galaxy A26, A36, and A56, were launched by Samsung at the beginning of March this year with “Awesome Intelligence” features (AI functions) and six years of Android and security updates. According to a Leak, the manufacturer could present the Galaxy A17, which is the most affordable model in the A family, in the second half of the year. According to data from Counterpoint Research, the current model, the Galaxy A16, is one of the best-selling Samsung smartphones this year.
There will also be new models in the tablet sector: According to Samsung, the Galaxy Tab S11 series with advanced AI functions will be released in the coming months. The current Galaxy Tab S10 family was presented in September 2024 together with the S24 FE. Samsung is also planning to launch new earbuds at various price points.
Further highlights: Tri-Fold and XR headset
In addition to the classic product lines, Samsung will be launching devices in new designs this year: firstly, the XR headset based on Android XR, announced as Project Moohan. On the other hand, a tri-fold device is to be added to the range.

Samsung already showed the foldable with two folds at its own Unpacked event at the beginning of 2025. A few weeks ago, Samsung's head of mobile TM Roh also said that it could be released by the end of the year. The company now seems to have confirmed the launch for this year. However, it is unclear whether it will come to Germany. According to reports, the company could only offer it in China and South Korea to test the market for this device class.
