Leak: Pixel 10 gets full Qi2 support with integrated magnets
Google's Pixel 10 is getting Magsafe support similar to Apple's iPhones. According to the leak, the manufacturer also has its own Qi2 accessories up its sleeve.

Google's Pixel 10 series will apparently be one of the first Android smartphones with full Qi2 support including integrated magnets. This is according to leaked press material from a reliable source. The leak also provides further details on the features of the top smartphones expected on August 20.
Allegedly full Qi2 for the Pixel 10
Since the introduction of the Qi2 wireless charging standard in 2023, only one Android manufacturer has so far managed to integrate full support for the charging solution based on Apple's Magsafe: HMD with the Skyline. Other manufacturers such as Samsung and Oneplus have only half-integrated Qi2: The magnetic component is only available via an additional protective cover – this is called"Qi2 ready".
If you believe the information from the well-known leaker Evan 'Evleaks' Blass, Google will integrate a magnetic ring into the back of the Pixel 10 series. Thanks to this solution, the smartphone and a Qi2 charger can be perfectly aligned in order to achieve optimum charging speeds and reduce heat generation.
According to another report von in early June, Google's charging system and new accessories will run under the name "Pixelsnap". The charging puck shown by Blass on the Pixel 10 looks very similar to the one Apple uses for MagSafe on the iPhone. Google will support the new Qi 2.2.1 wireless charging standard of up to 25 watts – also known as Qi2 25 W –. This would make the system just as fast as the iPhone 16, which requires Apple's 25 W charging puck.
So far, the wireless Qi standard supports charging up to 15 W; only proprietary solutions from some manufacturers with special charging stations deliver up to 50 W and more.
Further details on Pixel 10 to 10 Pro XL
Evan Blass has published further details about the Pixel 10 models, including images. There are hardly any design changes compared to the Pixel 9, but Google itself confirmed the retention of the design a few days ago. The manufacturer had already unveiled the Pixel 10 itself with an image.
According to Blass, there are no surprises when it comes to the screen diagonals: The Pixel 10 and 10 Pro, like their predecessors, will get 6.3-inch displays, the 10 Pro XL a 6.8-inch screen, all of which will be a little brighter than the Pixel 9 series, it is said.
A new feature of the Pixel 10 is a telephoto zoom camera on the back, which Google previously only installed in the Pro models. However, there are said to be differences in the sensors between the basic and Pro models. Among other things, the ultra-wide-angle sensor is said to be the same as the one installed in the Pixel 9a. The Pixel 10 will support video recordings with up to 4K and 60 FPS, while the Pro models will support 8K and 30 FPS.
All models will also have a new Tensor G5 chip on board, which will no longer be manufactured by Samsung but by TSMC using a more modern process. According to reports, the performance of the Tensor G5 is not on par with a Snapdragon 8 Elite, but better than in the G4. The chip is also likely to be more energy-efficient than its predecessor. According to leaks, the runtime in energy-saving mode should be up to 100 hours.
More on-device AI
In addition to hardware, software always plays an important role at Google, and the Pixel 10 is no exception: reports suggest that the company is to give the smartphones a new AI assistant called Pixel Sense, which works entirely on the device. The assistant is supposed to offer a "contextual and personalized smartphone experience" and pull data from various Google apps such as Calendar, Gmail, Maps, Chrome and YouTube.

According to Android Authority, the new assistant has been developed to help users "complete tasks more efficiently, suggest relevant information when needed and adapt to individual habits and interests over time". In the run-up to the I/O developer conference in May, Google had already announced its intention to make its own assistant more proactive and powerful.
In addition to the Pixel 10 models, Google is planning to present other new products on August 20: There will be a new edition of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, for example, as well as new fourth-generation Pixel Watches. The Pixel Buds 2a budget earbuds are also on the agenda.
