The revised Amazon assistant Alexa Plus could do advertising in the future. This is what Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said in an interview with investors. The fact that Alexa Plus will cost a subscription fee anyway doesn't seem to bother Jassy.
"People store a lot with Alexa Plus, it's a great shopping experience that's going to get better and better," said Jassy in a call with investors , according to TechCrunch. He believes that over time there will be more opportunities for advertising to "play a role". The advantage is that users with Alexa Plus have more natural conversations that go back and forth over several rounds –, which Jassy sees as an opportunity to integrate advertising into these conversations and point users to products that can be purchased.

Alexa Plus is still in the test phase
Amazon's revised Alexa Plus voice assistant is currently in a test phase in the USA, but will later cost 20 US dollars per month. As far as we know today, the standard Alexa will also continue to be offered. It already includes some advertising elements, especially on the screens of the Echo Show devices.
Amazon has been working for years on a new version of its Alexa voice assistant , which has been in the red for the tech giant for years. The new Alexa Plus is supposed to implement modern AI and thus be able to have longer and more natural conversations with people. However, the development of Alexa Plus was plagued by problems right from the start. Alexa Plus therefore had to be postponed several times. There is no date for the launch in Germany.
Amazon has now also integrated advertising into its Prime Video streaming service. If you want to watch Prime Video content for free, you have to pay a surcharge on top of the regular subscription. It remains to be seen whether such a model will also be considered for Alexa Plus.
