CompuGroup Medical's (CGM) practice management software (PVS) and Rise's TI connectors have again been experiencing compatibility problems for weeks. Those affected have contacted the editorial team. As a result, the electronic patient file, which doctors are obliged to fill in from October, has not been working in many practices for weeks. Doctors are also missing out on the initial filling fee for the electronic patient file. As a Rise spokesperson confirmed when asked by heise online, smooth use with CGM's practice management systems is currently not possible.

It is unclear how many installations are impacted. “We cannot determine the exact number of installations in connection with CGM PVS, as the TI connections are handled exclusively by our sales partners and the Rise solutions, in particular the new Rise TI gateway, are already widely used with many primary systems,” the spokesperson said.

However, it is estimated that hundreds of medical practices are impacted. For example, the TI gateway from Rise is already being used successfully with many other primary systems. In fact, “all primary systems [...] must be compatible with all approved TI connectors to ensure seamless and secure communication in the telematics infrastructure,” the spokesperson said.

According to Rise, it has been in contact with CGM, which has been working on a solution to the problem, which has probably existed since April, since June. It was only shortly after the editorial team contacted CGM that the company provided an update.

Initially, CGM claimed not to have been aware of the issues when asked by heise online. Shortly after the editors' inquiry, CGM provided an update, but this resulted in an error message. “Errors have occurred during the data update and service runs”. CGM has also not yet answered other questions as to why quality assurance is failing with Rise connectors of all things.
