Gemini Live receives useful integrations: As 9to5 Google writes, the AI chatbot is getting the integration of notes, calendar, and other tools from Google's Workspace announced in May at Google I/O 2025. We have successfully tested it on a Pixel and a Xiaomi device.
Gemini Live with access to various Google apps
The integrations with the Notes app (Google Keep), Calendar, and Tasks work as you would expect: Users can instruct Gemini Live to set an appointment or reminder for a task – also a recurring. Users can also talk to Gemini Live about a wide variety of topics and record a shopping list for a specific recipe – in Google Notes lists.
Gemini Live displays a notification at the bottom of the screen for each activity performed for the supported apps. Orders can also be temporarily removed via an “Undo” button. Users can also remove a calendar entry or shopping list by voice command.

In addition, access to apps is supported together with camera and screen sharing, which was released at the beginning of June. This makes it possible, for example, to create a new calendar entry if an appointment can be seen on a poster in the real world or on the screen.
It is recommended to use the name of the app in the conversation with Gemini Live to achieve better results. In the first test, however, the whole thing also works with commands such as “Remind me to buy XY” to use Google Tasks/Reminders or “Create a shopping list for burritos” to create a list in Notes.

Set permissions
To use the function, users must activate the Google Workspace switch in the Gemini app settings. The switch for Google Maps is also located there.
In addition to Notes, Calendar, and Maps, the settings mainly contain Google's own apps, such as Gmail, Drive, and Google Home. However, the first third-party applications, such as Github, Spotify, and Whatsapp, are also on board. Not only Gemini Live has access to these apps, these actions can also be carried out via the normal Gemini Assistant on the smartphone and Wear OS smartwatches.
