Asus GeForce RTX 5080 Noctua Edition arrives in September
Asus and Noctua present a joint version of the GeForce RTX 5080. The graphics card is downright huge.

The cooperation between hardware manufacturer Asus and cooling specialist Noctua is entering its fifth iteration. Together, the two companies have presented the Asus GeForce RTX 5080 Noctua Edition. It has one noticeable change: a third fan.
From the GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua Edition to the GeForce RTX 4080 Super Noctua Edition, two 120 mm NF-A12x25 fans have always been used. The 5080 variant now has three NF-A12x25 G2 fans.

To make room for three 120 mm fans, the GeForce RTX 5080 Noctua Edition has grown to a length of 385 mm. Like its predecessors, it occupies four slots. Asus' other RTX 5080 models in the TUF and Astral series use three flatter 110 mm fans and are 348 and 358 mm long respectively.
The Noctua Edition has a specially adapted heat sink. It is longer and uses eleven heatpipes above a so-called vapor chamber to distribute the waste heat.

In its own performance analysis, Noctua describes the thermal advantage of the GeForce RTX 5080 Noctua Edition. With automatic fan settings, it remains six degrees Celsius cooler than its sister models TUF Gaming and ROG Astral under the same test conditions. However, the main strength lies in the noise development: the noise level is reduced by up to 14.5 dB(A) at the same time.

Asus still considers the ROG Astral version of its GeForce RTX 5080 to be the top model. The Noctua Edition therefore has to make do with a lower GPU boost clock of 2700 instead of 2760 MHz. In practice, however, there should be no noticeable difference.
Available from September
Upon request, Asus confirmed that the GeForce RTX 5080 Noctua Edition will be available from September. The manufacturer has not yet announced a price. The 4080 Super predecessor cost 1300 to 1400 euros. As the prices of the old generation were generally lower, a higher price of around 1500 euros is to be expected for the newcomer.
