Plex media server: Developers advise a quick security update
The Plex developers are currently writing to users and pointing out a security patch. The nature of the vulnerability is still unknown.

The media server Plex is vulnerable and attackers can exploit a software vulnerability. A security update is available for download.
Hardly any details available so far
The developers point out the vulnerability in the official forum and in the release notes of the current version 1.42.1.10060. However, further information on the vulnerability and a CVE number along with a threat level classification are still pending.
However, the vulnerability appears to be so dangerous that those responsible are currently sending emails to users who are still using vulnerable versions. The developers state that versions 1.41.7.x to 1.42.0.x are at risk. Users should install the secure version as soon as possible.
