Canyon from Koblenz is known to many for road bikes and mountain bikes, but the manufacturer has also been offering e-bikes for years, which are sometimes quite heavy. At just over 20 kg, the Citylite:On weighs more than two road bikes, but the focus of the e-bike is more as a replacement for a car to get around town in comfort, according to Canyon. There is also an optional version without a motor.

The heart of the 21.94 kg (step-through: 21.46 kg) Citylite:On with step-over frame is a Bosch Performance Line mid-motor with 75 Nm torque and 600 W power. According to the manufacturer, it has four support modes and a Bosch Purion 200 display with push assistance. The brakes are disc brakes.

The energy storage unit of the Citylite:On is a 400 Wh battery which, according to the manufacturer, should provide a range of up to 85 km in Eco mode. According to Canyon, the battery integrated into the down tube can be removed so that you don't have to carry the bike to the power socket to charge it. As an option, the manufacturer offers a 250 Wh range extender, which can be used to ride up to 50 km further.
The city bike also has a low-maintenance Gates belt drive and a Nexus 5-speed hub gear from Shimano. The e-bike is also equipped with integrated LED lights including brake lights, mudguards, a kickstand, pannier rack and a frame lock.

The e-bike also has an SP-Connect SPC+ E-CAP mount so that the smartphone can be used for navigation. As an optional accessory, the manufacturer offers a wireless charging module that can charge the smartphone directly via the e-bike battery.
For a comfortable ride, the bike comes with an aluminum frame and carbon forks that are designed to dampen vibrations. Additional suspension is provided by a Vario suspension seat post and wide Maxxis DTR-1 tires (650x47).

A MIK-HD luggage rack is also on board, which allows the mounting of child seats, baskets or panniers, according to the manufacturer. Optionally, the transport capacity can be extended with a front carrier or a trailer. The frame is designed for bike trailers with a load capacity of up to 60 kg. According to Canyon, it has primarily tested Thule and Croozer models with a low drawbar.
Cityline:On costs 3,000 euros
With the introduction of the new model range, Canyon is restructuring its "urban portfolio" and positioning the Citylite as a pure city bike. According to Canyon, the Roadlite is designed to be more minimalist and sporty, while the Pathlite is suitable for touring.
