Following an IT attack on the Ameos hospital group in July, the association has now published an information form that patients can use to submit a request for information. "Whether personal data is affected in individual cases must be checked individually and at great expense. We are therefore unable to make a reliable statement about how many people are actually affected", a spokesperson told heise online.
After filling out the information form linked on the information website, it will be individually checked which data was affected in which period. To accomplish this, patients must identify themselves and upload a copy of their ID document.
"The German and Austrian facilities of the Ameos Group are impacted," the spokesperson added. Furthermore, It is possible that no personal data is affected, a spokesperson told dpa. Ameos is working with the relevant authorities and external service providers to investigate the attack.
