Acer shows the first notebook with Intel's Panther Lake
The Swift 16 AI will be available in the coming months with the Core Ultra 300. The particularly lightweight Swift Air 16, on the other hand, relies on Ryzen.

Acer is the first manufacturer to show a notebook with Intel's upcoming mobile processor Panther Laker: the Swift 16 AI in the generation for 2026. Acer is not revealing too much at the moment, except that there will be an OLED option with 3K resolution and 120 hertz and the two USB-C ports speak Thunderbolt 4. The device is likely to be released in early 2026 – with a possible market launch at Christmas 2025.

The related Swift Air 16, which is due to be released in November with an AMD interior, is earlier. The name is inspired (apart from Apple's MacBook Air) by the lightweight housing made of a magnesium-aluminum alloy, which Acer uses to reduce the total weight to just under one kilogram. The notebook thus competes with LG's Gram series.

The notebook comes with three current processor options from AMD: the eight-core Ryzen AI 7 350, the six-core Ryzen AI 5 340 and the four-core Ryzen AI 5 330. All variants feature an AI unit with 50 TOPS, which is suitable for Microsoft Copilot+.
Acer relies on the 16:10 format for the 16-inch display. The basic configuration has an IPS display with an extended Full HD resolution, i.e., 1920Â Ă— 1200 pixels, and 60 hertz. Only this variant weighs less than one kilogram.

The optional OLED version is slightly thicker (16.5 instead of 15.9 mm when folded) and weighs 1.1 kilograms. The display shows 2880Â Ă— 1800 pixels at 120 Hertz and is said to completely cover the DCI-P3 color space. All versions of the Swift Air 16 have two USB4 ports (Type C), which are best used for external displays. The HDMI 1.4 port can only control 4K displays at 30 hertz.
The basic configuration with Ryzen AI 5 330, IPS display, 16 GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512 GB SSD is comparatively inexpensive for such a lightweight notebook at 879 euros. The maximum configuration comes with up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 1 TByte SSD.
