With the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra and Tab S11, the Korean manufacturer is updating its tablet family, which previously consisted of the Tab S10 Ultra and Tab S10 Plus. There is no Plus model this year, which could only be relaunched next year with the Tab S12.

Samsung's Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra has been given another slimline makeover: From the 5.4 mm of the S10 Ultra with 14.6-inch screen (2960 Ă— 1848 pixels), the case thickness has now been reduced to 5.1 mm, making it as slim as Apple's iPad Pro 13" with M4 chip. The 11-inch Galaxy Tab S11 tablet (2560 Ă— 1600 pixels) has been reduced from the 5.9 mm of the Tab S9 to 5.5 mm. The manufacturer has also reduced the weight of the tablets: The Ultra now weighs just 690 g (previously 718 g) and 469 g (S9: 498 g) respectively

Both tablet screens support an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hertz and can boost brightness up to 1600 cd/m² at peak or 1000 cd/m² (HBM). According to Samsung, the Ultra model has an anti-reflective coating that is similar to that of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, but is less resistant to scratches. Both models have four speakers and both are protected against dust and water in accordance with IP68.

Incidentally, you can not only make entries on the touchscreen of the tablets with your finger, but also use the S Pen. The pen with IP68 protection is included with both models, docks magnetically to the back and picks up power there via inductive charging.

Samsung is not using an in-house Exynos or Qualcomm chip as a processor; instead, both models are equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ SoC with eight cores, which is manufactured using the 3 nm process. Samsung promises an increase in performance of up to 28 percent more CPU and 38 percent more graphics performance compared to the Tab S10, and 21 percent more power for AI tasks. The RAM for both versions is 12 GB for variants with 128 (Tab S11 only), 256 and 512 GB UFS 4.0 memory, while an additional Ultra variant with one TByte has 16 GB.

Other features of the new Galaxy tablets include front and rear cameras with 12 and 13 MP, respectively; the Ultra model has an additional 8 MP camera integrated into the rear for ultra-wide-angle shots. The Ultra version also features Wi-Fi 7 and an 11,600 mAh battery that can be charged with 45 W. The 8400 mAh battery of the small model, which has Wi-Fi 6e on board, supports equally fast charging. Both models are optionally available with mobile phone support and dual SIM (1x physical, 1x eSIM).

Samsung delivers the new tablets with One UI 8 based on Android 16. In addition to Google's AI assistant Gemini, numerous AI functions, such as Now Bar, writing and drawing assistants are baked into the operating system, according to the manufacturer. App windows will also be freely movable on the screen and a new version of the Dex desktop interface will be accessible with a simple swipe gesture. Samsung has promised seven years of updates for the devices.
