This week, our gallery photographers take us on a journey through a broad spectrum of photographic forms of expression. On display are shimmering autumnal reflections, a curious frog, the dynamic intensity of motor sports and the majestic unfolding of a peacock. Each picture tells its own impressive story.

Reflection

The autumn trees glow in vibrant colors, from gold to orange to red. The warm light of the late afternoon makes the leaves glow and the water reflects their magnificent colors. It seems as if the trees merge with the reflective surface, creating a magical harmony between earth and water.

As a frog, you have it good ...

Photographed at close range, this shot captures the green coloration and distinctive black spots of this frog. Its inquisitive upward gaze testifies to its vigilance – After all, despite the idyll, the danger from the gray heron and other predators remains present. The details of the skin structure stand out against the soft shimmer of the water.

"The picture was taken in a small fountain in the Botanical Garden in Berlin. There was a veritable "concert" of frogs there that day, and if you looked closely, you could spot several at once," reports photographer Boeing-707. "However, only one of them showed itself so clearly that an undisturbed photo was possible. After a short series, it suddenly disappeared, a lucky shot at just the right moment."

BMW Kneeler.....GI – Rain

The full intensity of a Kneeler racing team can be felt here. At the Technorama Hildesheim, the rain pours down incessantly, but the driver and co-driver don't let it slow them down and take the bends without compromise. The black and white aesthetic chosen by JeanFP creates a timeless effect that focuses on speed and attitude.

Language of grace

At the center of this shot is a magnificent peacock, unfurling its imposing plumage in radiant colors. The detailed structure of its eye feathers extends outwards in a circle, creating an impressive composition. The dark background emphasizes the bright blue and green tones of the plumage even more. The peacock's forward-facing gaze also lends the shot presence and expressiveness.

Ponta do Rosto

The strong red tones of the cliffs form an impressive contrast to the blue of the Atlantic and lend the scenery a special intensity. The sculptural-looking rock formations draw the eye along the coastline into the distance. Clouds in the sky create changing light moods and further emphasize the play of colours in the landscape. The result is a dynamic image that captures the wild beauty of the São Lourenço peninsula in all its diversity.

A beautiful model

A swallowtail sits on a flowering plant and unfurls its wings in all their glory. Its detailed drawing is razor-sharp and forms an attractive contrast to the soft blue of the sky. The subtle blurring of the surrounding flowers draws the focus to the insect. The photograph by AHI 1975 conveys a summery lightness and captures a moment of tranquillity in nature.

The photographer comments: "This shot of a butterfly bush, which was literally swarming with butterflies, was taken in the late afternoon, when the bright midday light was gone. I liked the color tones of the butterfly and the plant, which are delicately repeated in the background like a shadow, as well as the multiple diagonals in the picture."

The focus is on a gripping moment in a bike race, captured with a strong emphasis on motion blur. The focus is on a rider in a green jersey leaning forward in a tight bend. The blurring of the passing athletes creates a dynamic pull that makes the speed of the race palpable. The houses in the background and the spectators at the side of the road complete the city backdrop.
