Lenovo is launching five new Thinkpads in the next few weeks that use Intel's Arrow Lake-H or Arrow Lake-HX mobile processor generation: the Thinkpad P16 Gen 3, P16v Gen 3, P16s i Gen 4, P1 Gen 8 and P14s i Gen 6. Lenovo is also launching the already available Thinkpad X9 Aura Edition in 14 and 15 inch sizes in white (Glacer White). This is said to be a limited edition.
Top model as a fast desktop PC replacement
The 16-inch Thinkpad P16 Gen 3 is the new top model, which is intended to replace a large desktop PC (desktop replacement). The notebook is equipped with Intel's fastest notebook processor Core Ultra 9 275HX with 24 cores, paired with a professional GPU from Nvidia's Blackwell generation.

In the maximum configuration, Lenovo accommodates the RTX Pro 5000 with 24 GB of memory. With 14,080 shader cores, this model is even more powerful than the mobile GeForce RTX 5090 (10,496 shaders) and, at chip level, is more like a much slimmed-down desktop RTX 5090 (21,760 shaders).
The Thinkpad P16 Gen 3 has up to 192 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM and up to three 4 TB SSDs. There are two Thunderbolt 5 ports, one Thunderbolt 4 port, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports (10 Gbit/s), HDMI 2.1, a card reader for SD Express cards and a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port.
Lenovo offers various display options, starting with an IPS variant with 1920Â Ă— 1200 pixels in 16:10 format. A 3.2K OLED screen is optional.
More compact notebooks
The Thinkpad P16v Gen 3 makes do with slower hardware: Intel's 16-core Core Ultra 9 285H and Nvidia's RTX Pro 2000. The RAM is limited to a maximum of 96 GB.

The Thinkpad P1 Gen 8 uses similar hardware, but in a more compact and lighter casing. According to the data sheet, it weighs 1.84 kg instead of 2.1 kg. In the Thinkpad P16s i Gen 4 and P14s i Gen 6, Lenovo limits the GPU selection to Nvidia's RTX Pro 1000 in the maximum configuration.
Lenovo pre-installs either Windows 11 Pro, Ubuntu or Red Hat Enterprise Linux on its business notebooks. The only exception is the X9 Aurora Edition, which is only available with Windows 11 Pro. Intel's vPro for remote maintenance, among other things, is activated on all models.
