According to a media report, Amazon is developing two smart glasses that could come onto the market from 2026. A model developed under the code name "Jayhawk" is aimed at consumers and offers a monocular color display in addition to microphones, loudspeakers and a camera, reports The Information, citing two people familiar with the matter. Amazon is aiming for a market launch at the end of 2026 or beginning of 2027. The price is not yet known.
The second smart glasses, codenamed "Amelia", are intended to help parcel carriers sort and deliver parcels. According to the report, they will offer a visual navigation aid. This model could be released as early as the second quarter of 2026, with around 100,000 units to be produced. The first rumors about smart glasses for Amazon parcel carriers emerged at the end of 2024.
The display technology of both smart glasses is identical and comes from the Chinese company Meta-Bounds, according to reports. However, "Jayhawk" is said to have a slimmer design, while "Amelia" is chunkier and does not have a color display.

Hot on the heels of Meta
An upgrade for the Echo Frames is also planned. The smart glasses, which have been available since 2020, have integrated microphones, speakers and Alexa, but no camera. According to The Information, Amazon is working on a new generation with a camera. This would bring them into line with Ray Ban's Meta glasses in terms of features.
The magazine writes that Meta will be announcing new smart glasses at Meta Connect next week. According to various earlier reports, these will be glasses with a monocular color display, just like the "Jayhawk". Bloomberg reported in August that the starting price for Meta's new smart glasses, codenamed "Hypernova", will be around USD 800.
The market for AI glasses and smart glasses with a display is likely to become increasingly competitive over the next two years. In addition to Amazon, Google, Samsung, Apple and Snap are also developing corresponding wearables, as are numerous smaller manufacturers.
