A "Government Blockchain Academy" will be launched by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in early October. The UNDP's partner in the project is the Exponential Science Foundation, which is dedicated to "accelerating the safe and comprehensive adoption of new digital technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, and other emerging technologies."
The new academy aims to help governments find and implement solutions to problems in five areas. The five areas are digital identities, climate resilience, supply chain integrity, administrative transparency, and digital finance. The solutions are already predetermined: blockchains, possibly with AI.
To this end, the Government Blockchain Academy will organize face-to-face seminars, online courses, and leadership forums tailored to the public sector and local conditions. In addition, there will be advice and guidance from experts. Next year, the first countries will benefit from the program, after preparations have been made, curricula developed, and stakeholder engagement carried out this year.

"This is not just an educational initiative. These are collaborative templates for innovation in public administration," said Paolo Tasca of the Exponential Science Foundation. "By bringing different partners together under one umbrella, we can ensure that governments have the tools and staff they need to navigate the next wave of digital transformation."

Irena Cerovic, responsible for innovation in Europe and Central Asia at UNDP, hopes to strengthen "transparency, inclusion, and resilience." The United Nations Development Programme is a committee of the United Nations General Assembly. It is dedicated to supporting transitions to democratic systems, developing strategies for poverty reduction and crisis prevention, and solving environmental and energy problems while promoting sustainable development. And now, the spread of AI and blockchains.
