New boss at T-Mobile: Srini Gopalan takes over on November 1
On November 1, Srini Gopalan will become the new CEO of T-Mobile, replacing Mike Sievert. T-Mobile wants to start a new chapter as an uncarrier.

Srini Gopalan will take over as the new head of T-Mobile on November 1. He has been with the company for almost four years – of which as Chief Operating Manager since March 2025. Gopalan replaces Mike Sievert at the top, as T-Mobile announced.
Gopalan has already held senior positions at Bharti Airtel and Vodafone and was – before moving to the US subsidiary T-Mobile – Head of Deutsche Telekom in Germany, where he was responsible for fiber optic expansion, among other things.

The next chapter as Uncarrier
According to a press release, Mike Sievert, the current head of T-Mobile, will move to the newly created position of vice chairman. In this role, he will serve as an advisor in the areas of long-term strategy, innovation, and talent development.
T-Mobile further states that the transition is the result of a well-established succession planning process led by Sievert and the board of directors to shape the next chapter of T-Mobile as an"Uncarrier" while continuing to reinvent the customer experience, gain market share in mobile and broadband, and maintain America's best network with the best value for money.
