Spotify brings back Djay integration
A few years ago, Spotify cancelled the integration of popular DJ programmes. Now Djay and co. can access the streaming service again.

The Spotify music streaming service can once again be integrated into DJ programs. Spotify informs about this in a news entry. Users of rekordbox, Serato, and djay can once again access all Spotify content and playlists to build their sets.
The prerequisite for this is a premium subscription to Spotify. Whether the new Basic subscriptions will also work was initially left open. Access to the Spotify library only works via desktop programs of the DJ tools, Spotify writes. You have to log in with your Spotify account within your preferred DJ software to get started.
Spotify cut the integration for DJ software just a few years ago. In July 2020, access to the Spotify library for DJ tools was cut. Since then, DJs have had to access other streaming services to mix their playlists. However, because Spotify offers the largest library and also rare content such as remasters or bonus tracks, this was often associated with compromises.
AI DJ from Spotify
It was only in August that Spotify introduced the option of directly integrating transitions between songs on playlists in the Spotify app. The options available for mixing include volume, equalizer, and various effects. Alternatively, an automatic mode can be used to create transitions between songs in the Spotify app.
International users who don't want to let off steam as a DJ themselves can let Spotify play music for them instead. The company has been experimenting with an AI DJ since 2023, which can greet users with a voice generated in real time and play music tracks tailored to them. The AI, which is based on technology from OpenAI, is designed to select suitable music tracks based on listening behavior, including new releases as well as older songs that users have not listened to for a long time. However, Spotify's AI DJ is only available in English and cannot be used in Germany.
