Disney+: Subscription price also increases in Germany
Disney+ subscription costs also rise in Germany: In the future, you'll have to pay more for all subscriptions. Disney is hiding this with a discount campaign.

The price for the Disney+ subscription is also rising in Germany: Disney wants more money per month for all three subscription variants in the future:
- The standard subscription with adverts will cost 7 euros per month instead of the previous 6 euros.
- The standard subscription without adverts will cost 11 euros per month instead of the previous 10 euros.
- The Premium subscription will cost 16 Euro per month instead of 14 Euro as before
Price increases well hidden
The new prices can be seen on the Disney website; you can see them during the order process if you look closely. Disney has hidden them well. Under the guise of a temporary discount promotion, the company is currently offering the three subscription levels at a reduced price for three months. The new, higher prices are hidden in the small print. Further confusion is caused by the fact that Disney continues to quote the old prices on its support pages.

Apparently, the new prices will come into effect on 27 September, when the current discount campaign ends. Whether and when existing customers will be switched to the new cost structure remains to be seen. The costs for an annual subscription with a one-off payment are also not yet known.

If the price of a current subscription is increased, providers such as Disney must ask their customers for permission in advance before they can debit more money. If a customer refuses the price increase, the subscription ends. This also happens if the request for authorization is ignored. Disney must therefore contact its German customers before raising prices for existing customers. This is usually done by email.
Disney is also raising subscription costs in the USA. The costs there are even higher: US customers will have to pay at least USD 12 per month in the future to be able to watch Disney+ with ads—a price increase of USD 2. Prices are also rising for the other subscription options. The Premium subscription will cost 3 US dollars more in the future, which corresponds to a monthly cost of 19 US dollars. The new prices will apply from October.
