Proactive AI chatbot: ChatGPT Pulse instead of social media
People should be entertained and informed by OpenAI's new ChatGPT Pulse feature – personalised and proactive.

Good morning world, good morning ChatGPT. That's apparently what OpenAI wants. With the new ChatGPT Pulse, people should be able to find the chatbot at any time, even if they don't have a question in mind. Instead, ChatGPT then proactively suggests topics and information.
AI companies are apparently all the opinion that their applications are particularly helpful if they know what people need before they do. This involves comprehensive memory functions and suggestions based on what is known. With this in mind, Microsoft has introduced its recall function, which regularly takes a screenshot of the screen and analyzes it. Mark Zuckerberg also believes that there needs to be a highly personalized AI assistant that sees and hears everything you see. According to him, the best way to do this is with smart glasses.
OpenAI already has a memory function that allows ChatGPT to memorize information about the user. Now, thanks to Pulse, ChatGPT is set to become even more proactive by combining memory, chat history, and direct feedback to find the most personalized information possible, which the chatbot then suggests. It is therefore a function in which ChatGPT specifically carries out proactive research to provide personalized updates based on “previous chats, feedback, and connected apps such as the calendar.” The topic suggestions appear as topic cards, which you can quickly get an overview of and simply click on if you are interested.
Calendar and Gmail integration for ChatGPT
Behind the function is the attitude noted by OpenAI in the blog post that people like to hand over responsibility. “There's something magical about being able to simply ask and get answers that help you learn, create, or solve problems. However, this is limited by what you know to ask, and the responsibility for the next step is always on you.” Simply not wanting to solve a problem or learn anything doesn't seem to be an option.

Fittingly, ChatGPT Pulse will initially be made available for Pro users on mobile devices. Both Google Calendar and Gmail can be integrated. Thanks to the information from the calendar, ChatGPT can, for example, remind you to buy a birthday present for someone. But beware, a security vulnerability was recently discovered in ChatGPT Agent, in which the AI chatbot was attacked via the mail integration. ChatGPT then revealed personal data from emails to the attackers.
