A new Webex function has been added to the Apple Vision Pro to enhance collaboration in companies. At its WebexOne 2025 conference, Cisco presented "3D Model Collaboration", which is designed to enable teams to view and edit 3D models together during video conferences. This should enable a new type of remote collaboration with the help of the 3999 Euro headset.
According to Cisco, the new collaboration function enables meeting participants to edit, rotate and enlarge 3D models in real time as if the objects were physically in front of them on a table. Meeting hosts can control which participants receive editing rights. In addition, several models can be displayed and compared in parallel. Cisco hopes that this will significantly improve the hybrid way of working, in which teams work on complex projects from different locations.
There are application scenarios for sectors such as automotive engineering, architecture and healthcare in particular. Car manufacturers could inspect prototypes without engineers having to fly around the world. Architects could guide customers through building designs before the first sod is turned. Medical training centres could use anatomical models without the need for expensive physical replicas.

Enterprise focus as a lifeline
The new Webex integration supports Apple's increased efforts to establish Vision Pro in the enterprise sector. Since its market launch in February 2024, the headset has struggled with weak sales figures in the consumer sector. According to market analyses, less than one million devices have been sold worldwide.
However, enterprise applications could justify the device's profitability. If companies can save on travel expenses, accelerate product cycles or improve training by using the Vision Pro, the high purchase price is put into perspective.
At the same time, Apple is working on further refinements for the headset. visionOS 26, for example, significantly improves iPhone integration so that users can also operate the smartphone in full immersion without having to take off the headset.
Availability and technical requirements
3D Model Collaboration is now available for Webex users on Apple Vision Pro. The app is available in the App Store; all users with valid Webex access data can use the function. Cisco also offers the feature to free account holders, but is primarily aimed at corporate customers with existing Webex contracts.
