Paulina
(Image:Â Thomas Ruppel)
This artistic black and white portrait captivates with the intense gaze of the young woman, who seems to be standing in water. Her arm, placed over her head, partially obscures her face and simultaneously forms an interesting frame. The light emphasizes the contours of her face and wet skin, lending the image a dramatic yet emotional atmosphere.
Furkapassstrasse Hotel Belvedere
(Image:Â forms)
The Furka Pass in Switzerland, with its numerous winding roads, is particularly known for the Hotel Belvédère located there. The vacant building is situated directly on a curve between two mountain roads and stands out due to its exceptional location and architecture. The image is further enhanced by the breathtakingly clear, star-studded Milky Way, which stretches across the sky as a luminous band – a successful combination of forms of nature and architecture amidst the nocturnal mountain landscape.
Water Droplet Time
(Image:Â AHI 1975)
This macro shot of water lily leaves on water stands out particularly for its colors: the rich green of the leaves forms a strong contrast to the black of the water. The numerous water droplets of various sizes on the leaves appear like shiny pearls reflecting the light. A fresh and aesthetically pleasing close-up of nature in all its detail.
Lighthouse III
(Image:Â Lena-13)
In the nocturnal environment, the lighthouse in DarĂź stands out impressively against the starry sky. The strong beams of light cut through the darkness, drawing the viewer's eye to the center of the scene. The photographer here works with a clear contrast between the light and the cool blue tones of the night. A narrow path optically leads the viewer directly towards the beacon, giving the image depth.
I Dominate
(Image:Â Ivan im Abstrakten)
A powerful portrait showing a woman topless and in striped stockings from a low perspective. It is the third image from the series “Geometry of Power” by photographer Ivan Horvat and was created during a meetup where this white futuristic niche was set up. The black and white rendering emphasizes the contrast between skin, fabric, and the futuristic-looking background, making the forms particularly prominent. The pose, sitting casually with head tilted back, conveys self-confidence and composure. This creates an image that equally conveys strength, aesthetics, and individuality.
October Sun at the Bastei Pillars
(Image:Â dave-derbis)
Two massive rock formations rise steeply against a clear blue sky above the autumn-colored forests of Saxon Switzerland. Next to the dark sandstone peaks, the sun breaks through and unfolds a radiant star of light, bathing the rock from one side in warm light.
In the Mirror Gaze of Silence
(Image:Â Antonio Giovanni Galle)
Only the head and eyes of a frog emerge from the water, calm and attentive. The light emphasizes the golden-brown eyes, which seem to glow in the dark water. The mirror-smooth surface lends the subject a special tranquility. Overall, the photo by Antonio Giovanni Galle appears very natural and focuses entirely on the quiet moment of observation.
The photographer reports on his shot: "The subject was created on a quiet spring evening at a small pond in Middle Franconia. The moment was so quiet that even the water held its breath – and that's exactly the silence I wanted to make visible."
